1. Span and cantilever length
The span of gantry crane is an important factor that will affect the quality of Crane. On the premise of satisfying the equipment conditions and satisfying the series standard of span, we should choose reduced the span as far as possible.
2. Determination principle of tread
(a) It can satisfy the stability requirements of the gantry crane along the track direction.
(b) The overall dimensions of the cargo shall be able to pass through the planar frame of the leg.
(c) Pay attention to the tread B is proportional to the span S, and the tread is generally taken B= (1/4-1/6) S.
3.Determination of gantry crane’s spacing size
The gantry crane’s external dimension, the cargo and transport vehicle channel should have a certain space dimension in order to facilitate the loading and unloading operation in the work.
General transport vehicles shall keep more than 0.7m distance between the door leg during loading and unloading.
The lifting gear shall have a distance of 0.5m or more with the transport vehicle when it does not work.
When the cargo passes the door, it should be distance of more than 0.5 m.
4.Selection of gantry crane’s electrical equipment
It shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T14406-1993.
5.Selection of single girder and double girder gantry crane
In general, the lifting capacity is below 50t and the span is within 35m. If there is no special use requirements, one should choose single beam gantry crane. If the crane is required to have wide legs, high working speed, or heavy lifting and length lifting, double girder gantry crane should be selected.
